Custom-woven cotton-linen blend
Our signature fabric isn’t chosen from a catalogue — it’s woven to our exact specification by a family-run mill. We spent fourteen months developing the blend: 72% organic cotton for softness, 28% European linen for structure and breathability.
The result is a fabric that breathes in summer heat, insulates gently in winter, and develops a beautiful hand-feel that improves with every wash. Unlike synthetic carriers that feel the same on day one and day one thousand, Née fabric becomes distinctly yours.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified (Product Class I) — tested for over 100 harmful substances and approved for direct, prolonged skin contact with newborns.
Custom-milled YKK hardware
We don’t use off-the-shelf buckles. Every piece of hardware on a Née carrier is custom-designed in collaboration with YKK — the world’s most trusted fastener manufacturer, responsible for the zippers on everything from military gear to Hermès bags.
Our magnetic-assist buckles are the centrepiece: they guide themselves into alignment with embedded magnets, then lock with a mechanical click. Release requires simultaneous pressure from two directions — intuitive for adult hands, impossible for a child to open accidentally.
Every buckle is individually rated to hold 50+ kg — more than twice the carrier’s maximum child weight of 20 kg. We over-engineer because this is the one thing we refuse to compromise on.
Ergonomic foam padding
The hip belt and shoulder straps use dual-density closed-cell foam: a firm inner core for structural support and a softer outer layer for comfort against your body. The foam is CertiPUR-US certified — free from formaldehyde, heavy metals, and ozone depleters.
We tested seventeen foam densities over eight months. Too soft collapses under load and transfers weight to your skeleton. Too firm creates pressure points. The density we chose distributes weight evenly and maintains its shape through years of daily use without flattening.
Reinforced bar-tack stitching
Industrial-grade stitching at every stress point — shoulder strap anchors, hip belt connections, panel attachment points. Each bar-tack is tested to 100 kg pull force, five times the carrier’s rated weight.
Curated seasonal colourways
Our colour palette is developed each season by our design team, drawing from architecture, fashion, and natural landscapes — never from the pastel-and-primary baby aisle. Each colourway is named, not numbered, and designed to complement adult wardrobes.
Machine washable construction
Remove the hip belt foam pad, fasten all buckles to protect the drum, and wash on a gentle cycle at 30°C with mild detergent. Air dry flat. The fabric softens beautifully with washing and retains its colour integrity through 100+ cycles.
Integrated storage pouch
The carrier folds into its own built-in pouch — roughly the size of a large clutch bag. No separate stuff sack to lose. The pouch doubles as a small pocket when the carrier is in use, holding keys, a phone, or a dummy.
Total weight: 680 grams
Lighter than most hardcover books. We shaved weight at every point without compromising strength — thinner-profile webbing (same tensile rating), optimised foam density, and minimal hardware. You notice the difference on long carries.
