A parent carrying their child in a Née carrier at golden hour

Our story

Born from
the hours
that matter

The beginning

We didn't start with a product. We started with a question.

Why does every baby carrier feel like it was designed for a photoshoot instead of a Tuesday afternoon?

The straps that dig in after twenty minutes. The buckles that need two hands and a YouTube tutorial. The fabrics that look beautiful in an ad but trap heat against your chest on a warm day.

We'd used them all — the wraps that took five minutes to tie, the structured carriers with twelve adjustment points, the slings that worked for exactly one body type. And every time, we ended up reaching for the same thing: our arms.

We wanted to carry our children close — not perform an engineering exercise every morning before coffee.

Why Née exists

A carrier should disappear into your day

Née — French for "born" — was created for the moments between the milestones. The kitchen-dancing. The grocery runs. The airport gate where you're bouncing a teething baby at 6 a.m. and trying to find your boarding pass.

We designed a carrier that goes on in under thirty seconds, distributes weight where your body actually wants it, and looks like something you'd choose to wear — not something you have to.

What we believe

Four principles that shape everything we make

01

Comfort is not a feature

It's the entire point. If a carrier isn't comfortable after two hours, it doesn't matter how beautiful it is. Every Née carrier is tested through hundreds of hours of real wear before it earns its name.

02

Simplicity takes patience

It's harder to design something simple than something complicated. We spent months removing — not adding — until what remained was exactly what parents need and nothing they don't.

03

Beauty should be quiet

We don't believe in loud logos or trend-chasing patterns. Née carriers are designed like good wardrobe staples — refined enough to notice, restrained enough to wear every day.

04

Parenthood is not a performance

We don't sell perfection. We make a tool for the real, imperfect, extraordinary experience of carrying another human through your ordinary life.

Design philosophy

Less, but considered

Every Née product starts with subtraction. We study what parents actually do — the one-handed reach, the half-asleep buckle, the transition from carrier to cot — and we design for those moments specifically.

Our hardware is custom-milled, not off-the-shelf. Our fabrics are woven to specification, not chosen from a catalogue. Our colour palette is curated seasonally, drawing from architecture and fashion rather than the baby aisle.

The result is a carrier that feels inevitable — like it couldn't have been designed any other way.

Craftsmanship

Made to be lived in

Née carriers are built from cotton-blend fabrics chosen for their feel against skin, not just their look on a shelf. The weave breathes in summer and insulates gently in winter.

Reinforced stitching at every stress point. YKK buckles rated beyond twice the maximum child weight. Machine washable — because the best carrier is the one you're not afraid to use.

Our promise

We will never make a carrier
that prioritises how it photographs
over how it feels.

That's the line. Everything else follows from it.
