Your child's safety is non-negotiable. Neither are our standards.
Every Née carrier is tested to exceed the strictest international safety standards. We don't treat certification as a checkbox — we treat it as the baseline. Our internal testing goes further, because regulations set the floor, not the ceiling.
Our certifications
EN 13209-2:2015
European standard for framed back carriers and soft baby carriers. Covers structural integrity, restraint system effectiveness, durability under load, and material safety. Tested by an accredited EU notified body.
ASTM F2236-16a
US Consumer Product Safety standard specifically for soft infant and toddler carriers. Covers structural integrity, fall hazards, buckle strength, and warning labelling. Independently tested by a CPSC-accepted laboratory.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100
Tested for over 100 harmful substances including formaldehyde, heavy metals, pesticides, and allergenic dyes. Product Class I certified — the strictest category, approved for products with direct and prolonged skin contact with babies.
IHDI Hip-Healthy
Acknowledged as 'hip-healthy' by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. The M-position seat design supports the natural spread-squat position that promotes healthy hip joint development in infants.
CPSIA Compliant
Fully compliant with the US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, including lead and phthalate restrictions. Third-party tested with certificates of compliance available on request.
What we test
Buckle strength: Every buckle is tested to hold three times the maximum rated weight. YKK hardware rated to 50 kg+ on a carrier designed for 20 kg max.
Fabric durability: Our cotton-blend fabric undergoes 10,000-cycle abrasion testing — equivalent to years of daily wear and washing.
Stitching integrity: Reinforced bar-tack stitching at every stress point, tested to 100 kg pull force.
Chemical safety: OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified — tested for over 100 harmful substances. Safe for direct skin contact with newborns.
Ergonomic validation: Developed with paediatric physiotherapists to ensure the M-position seat supports healthy hip development, certified by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute.
Our safety commitment
If we ever discover a safety concern with any Née product, we will issue a voluntary recall immediately — before being required to. We will always choose your child's safety over our margin.
